2013-06-13 - Sustainable construction, renewable energy, green chemistry, green and white biotechnology, waste and water management and sustainable food: these are the fields of activity promoted by the Brussels Sustainable Economy (BSE) Academy.
90 candidates put their names forward in October 2012, and 25 entrepreneurs were selected to take part in the academic year 2013.
The concluding party for the second year of the BSE Academy took place on 12 June. The eight start-ups pitched their projects to a panel of investors and a panel of judges responsible for awarding the BSE Prize and the Triodos Sustainable Impact Award.
The Brussels Sustainable Economy (BSE) project was set up in 2008 on the initiative of the Ministers for the Environment, Energy and Urban Renovation, the Economy and Employment in the Brussels-Capital Region. It is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), and aims to create businesses and jobs in the environmental sectors in the Canal territory.
