2020.01.15 - The Brussels-Capital Region announced on Tuesday 14 January that it has selected the plans of the Leuven consultancy Gijs Van Vaerenbergh for the development of three underpasses for cyclists and pedestrians alongside the Canal in Brussels, under three bridges: Van Praet, Jules de Trooz and Sainctelette. These developments should  improve the continuity of pedestrian and cycle routes by the Canal.

Brussels Mobility published a public procurement notice for the design and construction of these three underpasses for pedestrians and cyclists and the redevelopment of the adjoining public space in February 2017.

The project has received significant financial support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2014-2020.
