2014-03-28 – Following the visuals with their turquoise, green and yellowbackgroundsencouraging the public to “Exercise-Breathe-Go out”, to “Have fun-Be surprised-Go out” and then to “Discover-Look over-Go out” in the Canal Area last summer, autumn and winter, some bright new posters, this time with an orange colour scheme, will be displayed in Brussels’ central municipalitiesthis spring to encourage passers-by to“Smell-Taste”in this strategic axis of the Brussels Region. Over the next few weeks, these visuals will be present on place mats in restaurants, on postcards in various display racks and on posters which will multiply in public spaces and places.
The Urban Development Agency (ADT-ATO), which is organising the operation, has received support from STIB-MIVB, Atrium and several municipalities (Anderlecht, Brussels, Forest, Molenbeek, Saint-Gilles and Saint-Josse) for the display and distribution of the visuals.
The goal of ADT-ATO is tomake people more aware of what the Canal Area has to offer: its diversity, dynamism, activities, events, heritage, facilities, green and leisure spaces, cultural venues … in short, all the points of interest, some of them little known, in this territory of strategic importance for the development of the Brussels Region.
ADT-ATO is modulating the themes and colours to reflect the changing seasons, with a first poster presenting places of interest on each occasion and a second listing the events of the three-month period, both local and regional. Here too, the Municipalities are involved, helping ADT-ATO select these events from among those taking place in their territory.
For this fourth campaign (June 2013, October 2013, January 2014 and April 2014), ADT-ATO will therefore present two items: a ‘geolocalised calendar’ entitled “Sortir/Uitgaan” (“Going Out”: see here), and classified shops and catering outlets, produce and bric-à-brac markets and starred restaurantsunder the title “Sentir-Savourer” (“Smell-Taste”: see below).
Each item will refer readers, in particular via a QR code, to the website www.bruplus.eu, where more information and useful links are available.
