2016-11-18 – ‘Three Brussels urban development projects in competition in China,’ ran the headline in last Thursday’s real estate supplement in La Libre.
The article provided the following information: ‘Since 2012, the city of Guangzhou (...) has singled out and rewarded the best urban innovations (...). (...) it presents five International Urban Innovation Awards to exemplary cities and regions which support innovative projects contributing to social, economic and environmental development. This year, Brussels has been nominated for three separate appearances among the 15 shortlisted initiatives (out of a total of 301, representing 171 cities and regions in 59 different countries). (...) The three Brussels projects selected all relate to the Canal, a priority development zone identified by the Region (...).’
In addition to the five awards to be presented by the panel of judges, the public will choose the ‘Online Popular City’. To support Brussels, you can vote here (one vote per hour and prizes to be won).
The three Brussels projects in the running are:
- the Greenbizz building (Citydev) dedicated to the sustainable economy;
- the master plan for the development of the Anderlecht abattoirs, Abattoir 2020 (Abattoir);
- the territorial marketing of the Canal Area (ADT-ATO).
