La Savonnerie Heymans property development project has won one the prestigious MIPIM 2011 Award in the residential developments category.
The prize from MIPIM, the World’s Property Market, presented at Cannes on 10 March, is awarded for the application of sustainable development principles in creative contemporary architecture.
The project, which was developed by the Brussels Public Social Welfare Centre and designed by MDW Architecture, is a residential development forming a ‘village’ of 42 sustainable dwellings, including studios, one- to six-bedroom apartments, duplexes, lofts and maisonettes. It is being constructed on the site of a former soap factory on Rue d'Anderlecht, right in the city centre.
