Public discussion: "Europe invests in the districts of Brussels"

2013-11-22 – What impact does Europe have on the districts of Brussels? Does European Union money really make a difference in local communities in Brussels? On 18 December from 6 pm to 10 pm, citizens of Brussels, residents of Cureghem and experts will be at the Cellars of Anderlecht Abattoir (24 rue Ropsy Chaudron, 1070 Anderlecht) to put a series of challenging questions to politicians from Brussels and Europe in a discussion entitled “Europe invests in the districts of Brussels”, organised by the Information Office of the European Parliament in Belgium in conjunction with the Brussels-Europe Liaison Office.

The European Union’s presence in Brussels is not confined to the European District and its officials and institutions. The European Union also invests in Brussels’ other districts, financing projects in locations such as the Canal Area in Molenbeek and Anderlecht (Cureghem) or the Anneessens district in the City of Brussels. In this way the European Union supports young people, the unemployed, sustainable development, new training programmes and social economy projects.
