Winter Wonders 2012-2013 until 6 january

2012-12-03 - Winter Wonders (www.plaisirdhiver.be) are back for their 11th edition and our greatest delight.  Having become a winter destination thanks to this event, Brussels welcomes many tourists and local denizens every year who come to enjoy this friendly and festive atmosphere for the whole family.

Created in 2002 at the initiative of the City of Brussels, Winter Wonders has unrelentingly spared no effort ever since to enhance its appeal among the Belgian and foreign public visiting the country’s capital. Famous by now, the 2-km Christmas concourse in the heart of the capital will get us dreaming this year again with its unique atmosphere, quality activities, varied culinary specialties, discoveries of other worlds, enchanting lights, etc.

Alongside traditional features (skating rink, merry-go-rounds, big wheel…) that have turned Winter Wonders into an internationally renowned event not to be missed, this year’s edition will boast several new attractions:

  • the Grand Place basking in light with a monumental electronic Christmas tree and the traditional Christ Child’s crib;
  • Dreams in light: a light course composed of 5 artistic light installations;
  • Skating madness: the skating ring turns into a spectacular, freestyle disco;
  • the Stock Exchange reinvents itself: first exhibition: Terracotta Army.
