2015-08-19 - On 14 October 2015, the Brussels Capital Region teams up with the Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission and with the Committee of the Regions to organise, for the first time ever, an “Open Urban Day” during the Open Days 2015.
During this “Open Urban Day”, several conferences and visits will be organised in the Brussels Canal Area.
In the frame of this event, the Brussels Capital Region will organise the conference “The Brussels Canal Area: The dynamics of an urban renovation”. The conference is aimed at providing insight in the vision and the strategy that underlay the development of the canal area. During the conference, the achievements from the past and the present will be pointed out, as well as future projects. The developments along the canal will be compared and matched with those in cities featuring important waterside development projects, such as Ghentand Hamburg. This conference will be organised on
14 October, from 11:15until 13:00in the auditorium of the BEL (Tour & Taxis site).
