The CTA (Centre for Advanced Technologie) for industrial automation, which has been set up on the premises of the Athénée Royal Serge Creuz secondary school in Molenbeek, was opened on 7 December 2012. It offers training in two areas: automation for electricians specialising in automation and programming for CNC machine tools.
The project, jointly funded by the French Community of Belgium and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), involved fitting out the premises and acquiring state-of-the-art equipment. The aim is to provide suitable training to students and job-seekers, as well as continuing professional training that meets companies’ requirements. Three separate training spaces have been created.
The project’s educational approach is innovative. It uses multimedia resources, databases and an independent modular learning system that is adapted to each learner’s needs. The CTA can take groups of 8 to 12 people per training session.
It is expected that a total of 360 people will receive training every year, 25% of whom will be workers and job-seekers.
