The creation of a CTA (Centre for Advanced Technology) for residential and industrial electricity at the Institut des Arts et Métiers in Brussels helps address the shortage of skilled manpower in the sector. The CTA aims to rectify the lack of training in several areas where the installation of electrical systems requires specific skills. The CTA works in close collaboration with the reference centre Iris Tech to develop up-to-date training that is in line with the sector’s needs.
Rooms have been fitted out and equipment acquired in several fields: refrigeration technology, home automation and electrical engineering.
The potential of this project is calculated as 1,840 person-days of training per year (25% reserved for workers and job-seekers).
